Her-story
I started my career in the largest metropolitan city in the nation, New York City. I first became licensed in the state of New York in 2015, mostly practicing on the island of Manhattan. Real Estate fell into my lap through a happenstance journey.
As a Canton, Mississippi native, I grew up watching family invest in real estate - flip homes, and create rental properties. It was uninteresting to me at the time; but nevertheless it was an unknown spark. Life would eventually route me to NYC in 2014. I found myself in a very competitive job market. Nevertheless, I responded to a Craigslist ad from a Real Estate Broker offering to pay for education needed to secure real estate licensure, if one was willing to work as an agent for his firm. I thought this seemed like a nice deal - I get free education towards a professional license and hey I have some real estate experience watching family engage in the market, this could be a match. I hopped on the 1 train to meet with the Broker and the Real Estate Industry has been following me ever since. (The Broker only paid for a portion of my education - I learned my first professional Real Estate Lesson - don't take any wooden nickels.)
Life eventually bought me back home to the Jackson, Mississippi Metro Area. I always knew that I would bring my experiences in the city and that New York energy back home in some form or fashion. After practicing in New York as a real estate agent, as well as in Mississippi as a real estate agent, I am now the Principal Broker of The Ox and The Yams, LLC founded in 2022.

With years of experience in Real Estate, I have developed some interest points. I am very interested in sustainability and its effects on the real estate market. I am also interested in community and social issues and its ties to the Real Estate industry. I am interested in the second great migration of Blacks from major cities like New York and Chicago, back to their roots in the Southeast, where there ancestors first lived in the nation. I am interested in country living, and how we use the land and earth. I am very interested in all of the dilapidated buildings and properties in the Jackson metro area and how the cycles of various migrations produced so many properties. I am for the uplift and success of the Central Mississippi and Jackson Metro Area. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, music, and laughing.
